UPDATES (AND THE TITLE OF MY NEXT BOOK!)

Just a few quick updates regarding various projects:

  • I've completed sketchcards for two new Topps series: Lord of the Rings Masterpieces II and Indiana Jones Heritage (250 and 200 cards respectively). Check out my Myspace for a sampling.
  • The upcoming May issue of Shojo Beat will feature 3 new illustrations by me (for various articles).
  • Three new TPB's - Dead @ 17: Compendium, Lost Books of Eve vol. 1, and Dead @ 17: The Thirteenth Brother (most recent series with unpublished finale) - are all in various stages of production and will be arriving in stores within the next couple of months. The finale to the recent series will also be available online for free shortly before the book's release.
  • Plans are being finalized for my next series to debut in July or August of this year. The title? T-Bird and Throttle, a sci-fi/superhero adventure that's one part Superman and two parts Fantastic Four, with a dash of Star Trek. More info (and a preview) in the coming days...

WULF & BATSY

Starting in April, one of my personal favorite artists is finally getting his own series courtesy of Viper Comics. Wulf and Batsy is the creation of Disney animator Bryan Baugh, whose art is like a weird cross between horror master Bernie Wrightson and modern animation legend Bruce Timm. An unlikely pairing, but Bryan makes it work beautifully. It's gruesome, gory, horrific, and sexy - the perfect combination.

I'm also proud to say that I will be providing covers for the series, the first of which you can see here. Visit Viper Comics for a 10 page preview and lots more info.

HERE'S TO NEXT YEAR...

Just wanted to take a minute and wish everyone Merry Christmas and thank you for your support this last year. It was a very weird year for me, from the good (new baby girl) to the bad (late books). I want to apologize for the inconsistent and erratic schedule, which pains me more than it does you. I never wanted to be 'that guy.' But I have been diligently working to correct that for next year.  The result is that you may not see that many new books from me in the first few months, but I can assure you I will be back in full form by the summer. In the meantime, you can look forward to the Dead @ 17: Compendium (which is being readied for print as we speak), The Lost Books of Eve #4 (which should be arriving in stores any day now), and the conclusion to the Dead @ 17 ongoing series (online for free and in TPB form).

Film.com just posted an article where they list Dead @ 17 as one of the top three (non-superhero) comics they want to see on the big screen. Check it out!
