T-BIRD & THROTTLE - FIRST LOOK

Here's a look at the two leads from T-Bird & Throttle, coming in August. This is a book I've been dying to do for about 10 years now. I came up with the idea about the same time as Dead @ 17, back when I was working at Lone Star Comics. I remember trying to think of a superhero motif that hadn't been done before, and I couldn't think of one that had ever used a car theme, so T-Bird was born. I've been trying to get to this book almost every year, but never really felt it was ready until now. It's a lot different than what you've come to expect from me, but I hope you guys like it!Tbird_throttle_designs_02_pre

I like!

it will be interesting to see a superhero book after all those paranormal titles you´ve done...

It sounds neat, but I'm just a little concerned.

I was REALLY excited about a monthly Dead@17, we didn't even finish an arc.

I was REALLY excited about Lost Books of Eve. I guess the arc was finished, I thought it felt rushed.

I'm not sure about starting another series. It's almost like you have ADD and you have so many ideas, that your releasing all at the same time and they come out rushed.

Maybe you should stick to minis? Or maybe right stuff for others to draw if you love the ideas?

I dunno. I'm a huge fan. And I've loved everything to date, but I dunno. Maybe stick with something.

I think it'll be a fun change of pace! :)

Looks cool!

josh.
It is nice to see one of your dreams come to pass. I have a few projects like that and i know the feeling when you finally get to do them.
you going to bring some of the artwork to comicon? i got a pocket full of money and room for a couple more tattoos!!
see you later

Rich-

The latest Dead @ 17 arc is finished, you just haven't seen it yet, (which I have been constantly updating everyone on)and will be out long before T-Bird hits stores. I have been doing Dead @ 17 for 5 years now. I've done 4 mini series totalling 17 issues plus 3 specials (Rough Cut), not to mention a couple of spin-offs. Don't think that qualifies as ADD, especially considering I'm doing all the heavy lifting myself. I think I have clearly "stuck with it."

Eve has been the only other title I've tackled to date and the first mini is finished. I don't feel it was rushed at all. Maybe it wasn't the best idea to interweave its release with Dead @ 17, but so be it. I tried, it didn't work so well. We move on.

I'm doing a third series (T-Bird), which in no way affects anything else. Dead @ 17 is on haitus. Eve is in between mini-series.

I'm sorry you feel the way you do, but I don't see the problem with doing different projects. I love them all and each get my undivided attention when I'm working on them. Last year was problematic just because of bad scheduling (new baby, new longer print times, etc.) which I have take great steps to correct.

And just so you know, I haven't even touched a tenth of the ideas I have. In that light, I think I've shown incredible restraint ;)

I'm down for anything that's a little bit Fantastic Four.

Love the initial sketches...can't wait to see the kind of world you're going to create for these two to play in.

Alright Josh, This is going to be great. I can't wait.

As with all of your stuff, count me in for this!

Awesome man, love it already!

Lookin' forward to this! :) I love the look of the girl character.

very cool, can't wait till i can get this in my hands.

awesome!!! the more projects the better...cant get enough of your art!

I know i tell you in person all the time how much I can't wait for this, but I CAN'T WAIT FOR THIS!!!

Looking forward to seeing what you've got planned for this!

FINALLY!

I thought I was gonna have to draw this damn comic myself. :)

Love it! Great work.
