This is an article that appeared in the August 8 edition of Fort Worth Weekly. For some reason I'm just now getting around to posting it, but it's a great article and I'm really happy with how it turned out.
Some of you should already be receiving your sketch editions. The next batch goes in the mail tomorrow, followed by the remaing 3 batches over the next two weeks. I apologize for the long wait. I know you guys are anxious to get them, so I really appreciate your patience. It won't be long!
After getting back from San Diego Comic Con, I had to jump right in to moving to my new house, so I haven't gotten much accomplished in the last couple of weeks. But I guess it's better late than never, right? Here are a lot of the commissions and sketches I did at Comic Con. Most of these were taken with my camera since I didn't have a scanner on hand, and I cleaned them up as best I could.
Press Release
On August 11th, starting at 5 P.M., Lone Star Comics will be hosting the first art show for local comics artist Josh Howard at their Dallas Flagship location.
Howard’s most recent project, the graphic novel Clubbing, is part of DC Comics’ imprint MINX, a line of graphic novels aimed primarily at young women. Clubbing was scripted by British writer Andi Watson, who describes the story as “Agatha Christie meets Heathers”. It follows Lottie Brook to her grandparents’ country club in the country, where she must solve a murder while staying out of the trouble that got her sent there in the first place.
Clubbing has been the most successful of the MINX books released to date, and a second volume of Clubbing was recently announced by DC Comics. Thanks to this success, the second book will be released in 2008.
Howard’s work is not limited to Clubbing, though. He has built a name for himself in the independent comics scene as the writer and artist of the indie hit Dead@17. At the art show, fans of Howard’s unique art style will get a chance to see original art from several of his series and will also have a chance to purchase original art. The artist will be on hand starting at 5 P.M. on Saturday, August 11th.

Please note that the Other Girls ordering info has changed. Sketch editions are no longer available, and payments are made directly through Blurb now. International orders are still welcome and now require no extra payment to cover shipping costs.
I apologize for any inconvenience, but I was overwhelmed with orders for the sketch editions (thank you!). If you already ordered a sketch edition - don't worry, you will still get one. But I had to make the difficult decision to stop taking new orders or it would have been impossible for me to keep up for much longer at the rate that they were being ordered.
Thanks for your support and understanding. Sketch editions will begin going in the mail next week.
